Harley Day

Harley Day @ Petworth Park (Father's Day) Sunday  -There will be a varied selection of Harley Davidson motorbikes brought by local chapters, SERV will also be represented, they are a registered charity that delivers blood to hospitals free of charge by motorbike. Plus great music by Willy Austin and delicious food.
Normal ground admissions apply (ie free if you are a member of the National Trust)

Shipley Windmill is approximately 8 miles SW of Horsham in West Sussex.

From Horsham, take the A24 south to the Buck Barn Crossroads (traffic lights).

Turn Right onto the A272. After 3/4 mile Look for brown sign "Shipley Windmill"
#After 1 mile turn Left towards Shipley, as indicated on brown sign, then after
mile turn Right at little windmill brown sign. Follow the road around to the car park on the Left and park. The windmill is 50 yards along on the Left down the bridleway.

From
Worthing follow the A24 North to the Buck Barn Crossroads (traffic lights). Turn Left onto the A272. Then follow the instruction above from

1.30 to enter at 2pm

Gay Pride - The Carnival Parade - Saturday 1st August 2009. Suggest meeting near Preston Park

For 2009 the theme is ‘Pride Beside The Seaside' . The Carnival Parade sets off at 11am from Madeira Drive next to Brighton Pier. The route takes it along the Kingsway, up West Street, down North Street, left onto the Old Steine, along Marlborough Place, Gloucester Place, London Road, Preston Road, arriving at Preston Park from around 1pm.

Balloons over Basingstoke, Basingstoke,

Balloons Over Basingstoke is the borough's biggest and brightest family event attracting up to an estimated 50,000 visitors.

It has been running under its current name and format since 1996, but the event began as long ago as 1990. The balloons weekend has since grown and grown with numerous conventional and special shaped balloons on display.

The event will kick off with the ever popular Night Glow on the Friday night where balloons come to life with sound and light.

The weekend will include mass balloon launches (weather permitting), arena acts and activities for the whole family.

Amberley Working Museum, Amberley

Amberley Working Museum is a 36 acre open-air museum dedicated to the industrial heritage of the south-east. Staffed largely by volunteers, the Museum contains a wide range of exhibits, ranging from transport-based collections, such as the Southdown bus collection & the village garage, to industry-based collections, such as the Print Workshop & Wheelwrights. The Museum is also home to a number of resident craftspeople,who work to traditional methods

Goodwood Revival Meeting 2009

The Goodwood Revival is the world’s largest historic motor race meeting, which relives the glory days of historic Goodwood Motor Circuit.  But the Revival is far more than a series of races for historic cars – it is a magical step back in time, a chance to get away from the modern world and revel in the romance of motor racing as it used to be.

From Petworth take the A285 towards Chichester then follow signs to the event.  From Southampton, Portsmouth, Worthing, Brighton and Bognor Regis take the A27 towards Chichester and follow signs to the event.  From Pulborough and Horsham take A29 to meet A27 then as from Brighton.  From Petersfield follow A3 to meet A27 then as from Portsmouth.  From Haslemere take A286 via Midhurst to Singleton and then follow signs to the event.
